Translating Arabic is Hard.
Doing It Alone is Harder.

Modern Standard Arabic sits at the intersection of classical tradition and contemporary usage. What's "grammatically wrong" to one scholar is perfectly acceptable in modern journalistic style. What your client's style guide demands may conflict with what the grammar textbook says.

Most QA tools treat Arabic like a binary pass/fail test — but Arabic doesn't work that way.

Other QA tools: Flag errors with no context. You Google the rule. You lose 10 minutes. You still aren't sure.
No style guide enforcement: Client says "never use إمكانيات, always use إمكانات" — but you forget mid-project.
TWAS ZZ: Shows you the rule, the reasoning, old-vs-modern usage, and lets you ask the AI for deeper guidance — all without leaving Trados.
✦ A Writing Tutor, Not a Corrector

Like Having a Senior Arabic Scholar Beside You

TWAS ZZ Advanced Arabic Checker lives inside Trados Studio and guides you segment by segment — the way a knowledgeable mentor would. It doesn't just flag problems; it teaches you the rules.

"لو كان يصحح كل شيء لكان أذى للمترجم. لكنه يوعيه ويعلمه — وهذا هو الفارق." — The philosophy behind TWAS ZZ

Think of it as a writing guide that covers errors, stylistic preferences, acceptable modern usage, and client style rules — all in one place, always visible.

Four Levels of Guidance — Because Arabic Isn't Black & White

Unlike blunt QA tools, TWAS ZZ distinguishes between hard errors, stylistic preferences, informational notes, and obsolete usages — so you can make informed decisions.

Error

A clear grammatical mistake that should be corrected in all contexts. Accepted by no grammar authority.

إمكانيات → إمكانات

Style

Acceptable in Modern Arabic but marked as stylistically less preferred. May be required by your client's guide.

أثر فيه → أثر عليه

Info

A useful note about usage, historical context, or regional variation. Awareness, not necessarily action.

خطيرة ← خطِرة

Obsolete

A form or usage that was standard historically but has been superseded in modern formal Arabic.

أَبصر → رأى (modern MSA)

♥ The Story Behind the Name

Why "ZZ"? A Story of Love & Language

You might wonder what "ZZ" means in relation to an application that guides Arabic writing for translators. The secret lies in my parents, who were my first and most passionate teachers.

ZZ stands for Zizi — my beloved mother. She was the one who nurtured my love for Arabic, reading poetry and correcting my every mistake with patience. My father stood beside her, encouraging me to pursue excellence in language and translation.

Together, they taught me that Arabic is not just a language but a heritage to be honored. Every rule, every nuance they instilled in me now lives inside this plugin. This tool is my tribute to them — so that every translator can have a guiding hand, just as I did.

In memory of my mother and father, with eternal gratitude.
